About the Securities Dashboard

What this is

The Securities Dashboard catalogs mining and energy companies listed in North and South America whose securities appear in one or more tracked funds or indexes. It presents the universe two ways: a Holdings view (which fund holds which company) and a Pricing view (current price, intraday change, momentum metrics, market cap, and year-to-date performance).

Why it exists

Mining and energy securities are distributed across many small-to-mid-cap tickers, multiple exchanges (NYSE, NASDAQ, TSX, TSX-V), and specialty ETFs (Sprott, Global X, VanEck). Following all of them individually is tedious. This dashboard consolidates the universe so that cross-fund overlap, sector-wide moves, and individual outliers are visible at a glance.

Data sources

• Fund holdings — sourced from each fund's publicly published holdings page as of April 16, 2026. Sources tracked: curated NA oil & gas list (OIL), Barchart mining-sector list (BARCHART_MINERS), PHLX Gold/Silver Index (XAU), and 13 Sprott sector ETFs (SETM, URNM, URNJ, COPP, COPJ, REXC, LITP, NIKL, GBUG, SGDM, SGDJ, SLVR, METL).
• Daily pricing — Yahoo Finance via the yfinance Python library. Refreshed automatically every U.S. weekday shortly after market close.
• Intraday U.S. prices — Finnhub, applied as a live overlay for U.S.-listed securities when the browser loads the page. Canadian .TO, TSX-V .V, and other non-U.S. listings show the most recent daily close.

How to read it

• Type column: energy = appears only in oil & gas sources; metal = appears only in mining sources; mixed = appears in both.
• No-data badge: some tickers (delisted, very thin-float, or exchanges the feeds don't cover, e.g. Peru BVL) have no pricing. They remain in Holdings but are filtered out of Pricing by default.
• Time column: shown in Eastern Time (MM/DD/YY HH:MM ET). A Friday close at 4:00 PM appears as 04/17/26 16:00 ET throughout the weekend.

Limitations

• This dashboard is a viewing tool, not a trading system. It has no order routing, no alerts, and no portfolio tracking.
• Data can be stale, incorrect, or missing. Always verify against a primary source (the company's filings or your broker) before acting on anything you see here.
• Fund holdings change over time. The dataset reflects a specific as-of date and is not automatically refreshed when funds rebalance.
• This site is not affiliated with any of the listed funds, exchanges, or securities issuers.
